PHOTO GALLERY: The Best Pictures From Indiana's Win at Purdue

The No. 17 Indiana Hoosiers traveled to West Lafayette for the second of two in-state matchups with the No. 5 Purdue Boilermakers this season. Mackey Arena was hot but the Hoosiers were hotter, as Indiana won 79-71 to sweep the season series.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Seeing Indiana forward Miller Kopp in mid-air celebrating with assistant coach Brian Walsh (photo included in the gallery) summed up feelings for many Hoosier fans after Indiana beat Purdue 79-71 at Mackey Arena on Saturday. The Hoosiers have not swept the series between Purdue since 2013.

For what many assumed would be a battle of bigs in the paint between Purdue's Zach Edey and Indiana's Trayce Jackson-Davis, it didn't turn out that way. Jackson-Davis, Indiana's leading scorer, didn't score his first points until midway through the second half.

Saturday was freshman guard Jalen Hood-Schifino's time to shine. Contributing 35 points, seven rebounds and two assists, Hood-Schifino led the team to a huge win, and the second in three weeks over Purdue.

Trey Galloway added 13 points, five assists and four rebounds. Miller Kopp also had 13 points. While Jackson-Davis was limited by fouls, he still added 10 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

The Hoosiers now return home for their final two games of the regular season next week against Iowa and Michigan respectively. They play the Hawkeyes on Tuesday night, and finish the year on Sunday.
