AP Top-25 Poll Week 1: Three Indiana Opponents in Top 7

The first Associated Press Top-25 college football poll came out on Monday, and three of Indiana's 2023 opponents were included in the top seven. Further down the rankings, Wisconsin opens at No. 19, while Louisville and Illinois received votes but remained outside the top 25.

Another sign that the 2023 college football season is right around the corner is the release of the first Associated Press Top-25 poll.

With input from 63 voters, AP published its first set of rankings of Monday, and the defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs landed in the top spot.

As expected, Indiana will have another difficult schedule in 2023. The Hoosiers' schedule features three teams in the top seven – No. 2 Michigan, No. 3 Ohio State and No. 7 Penn State – and a fourth team in the top 25, with Wisconsin coming in at No. 19.

Just outside the rankings, Indiana's Week 3 opponent, Louisville, received 10 votes, and the Hoosiers' Week 11 opponent, Illinois, garnered three votes. In total, five Big Ten teams earned a spot in the top-25, and two additional conference squads received votes.
