BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Former Florida and Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen drew speculation that he'd be a candidate for the opening at Indiana.

Indiana fired Tom Allen on Sunday after seven seasons, and replacing him with a coach who had success in the SEC would have made sense. But on Monday, Mullen cleared the air and removed himself from consideration.

"I'm not going to Indiana," Mullen said. "I'll just share that with you right now."

Here's the full clip of Mullen discussing the Indiana job on Dan Dakich's show, "Don't @ Me" on the Outkick Network.

Mullen currently works for ABC and ESPN, but he has an extensive background as a head coach.

From 2009-17, Mullen coached Mississippi State to a 69-46 overall record. The Bulldogs went 5-2 in bowl games under Mullen and won at least eight games in five of his nine seasons.

Mullen then took the Florida job and got off to an impressive start. Florida went 10-3 and won the Peach Bowl in 2018; 11-2 and won the Orange Bowl in 2019; 8-4 and lost in the Cotton Bowl in 2020. But after a 5-6 start to the 2021 season, Florida fired him.
