Indiana Football Players in NFL, Week 4: Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Dominates Against Cincinnati

Former Indiana football wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine caught a touchdown pass for the Tennessee Titans, while the the Hoosier-made linebacker Micah McFadden had another solid outing for the New York Giants.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — It was a big week for former Indiana Hoosiers in the NFL, as all eight active players received snaps, and several put up big-time numbers.

Here's your weekly Indiana in the NFL roundup following Week 4 of the season:

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine

The former Indiana wide receiver finished Sunday's game with five receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown in the Tennessee Titans' 27-3 rout of the Cincinnati Bengals.

With his performance on Sunday, Westbrook-Ikhine broke 1,000 career NFL receiving yards here in his fourth season with the Titans. He trails only superstar DeAndre Hopkins in total receptions this season with 12, as he's clearly solidified himself as the No. 2 wideout in Nashville.

The Titans sit at 2-2 after four weeks, as do the other three teams in the AFC South. On Sunday at 1:00 p.m., Westbrook-Ikhine and Co. travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts in a vital early season clash.

Micah McFadden

It was another dismal outing for the New York Giants on Monday night. The team lost to the Seattle Seahawks 24-3, and big-money quarterback Daniel Jones looked like an abject disaster.

Still, former Indiana Hoosier Micah McFadden finished with five tackles — the second-highest total on the team behind Bobby Okereke — and continues to have a solid sophomore season in the NFL. Pro Football Focus (PFF) and its grades have not been as favorable to McFadden, but it's hard to say he's been anything but a positive for a 1-3 team that desperately needs something to break right here in 2023.

Raheem Layne

After only playing in 49 total snaps through the first three weeks of the season, Raheem Layne played 87 snaps in the Los Angeles Chargers' 24-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, according to PFF.

The former Indiana defensive back has been resided exclusively to special teams reps through Week 3, but in Week 4, he played 51 snaps at free safety, 13 snaps at box safety, six at slot corner and even three on the defensive line, according to PFF.

Layne finished the game with three total tackles, and earned a PFF grade of 69.3, the seventh-best mark out of 18 graded defenders on the Chargers roster from Sunday.

The Chargers are on bye during Week 5 and will not play again until Oct. 16.

  • Caleb Jones, OL, Green Bay Packers — 1 snap played
  • Ian Thomas, TE, Carolina Panthers — 29 snaps played

With Caleb Jones and Dan Feeney finally receiving some playing time, every former Indiana Hoosier in the NFL has played at least one snap this season.

Here is what the Chiefs, Packers, Panthers and Bears have going on in Week 4 for any Indiana fans that want to see if they put up more stats in Week 5.
