With each trip to Iowa's campus, Evan Jacobson grows his relationship with Iowa Football. That translates into a high comfort level with the Hawkeyes.

The Waukee (IA) High sophomore tight end visited them for a game day in November. He stopped back a few weeks later for a bowl practice. This past weekend, he attended a junior day.

"I enjoyed talking with the coaching staff and getting to know them more as well as the ability to see all of the facilities," Jacobson told HN about his latest visit. "Also, I really enjoyed being in the tight ends room, where I got to see and learn the things they do on a daily basis."

Jacobson already checks in a 6-feet-7, 220 pounds. A basketball standout as well, the sophomore could line up at defensive end in college.

"I had a really good talk with the (Iowa) coaches. I feel very assured that they are extremely interested. They want me there as a tight end. They told me they see me fitting right into the tight ends room," he said.

The junior day visit was more personal than Jacobson's past Hawkeye visits. He spent time speaking one-on-one with staff members.

"I learned so much about their culture and how bought in the players truly are. That really appealed to me because it's different than other programs. They have guys who want to return for their senior years and cement their legacies," he said.

"Also, they don't really have guys who are opting out of their bowl games."

Jacobson's parents, Bill and Katie Jacobson, attended the University of Iowa. His older brother, Michael Jacobson, played basketball at Iowa State from '17-'20 after transferring from Nebraska.

"I was a fan of both (growing up)," Evan said of the Hawkeyes and Cyclones.

Evan visited Iowa State for a football game back in September. Out-of-state Programs also have shown him interest.

"The main schools right now are Iowa, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Kansas, Kansas State, and Nebraska. I'll be visiting Wisconsin in the spring and will get back to Iowa for sure," he said.

Jacobson is learning about college academic options as well. He's considering several majors.

"I haven't decided yet, but I know something in the business field appeals to me. My dad is a doctor, so I've thought about that as well, as I really enjoyed biology," he said.

As a sophomore, Jacobson caught six passes for 91 yards and two touchdowns. He showed during his sophomore highlights the ability to block and run routes in-line. He sometimes splits out into the slot, too.

Entering this week's action, he was leading the Warrior basketball team in rebounding (9.6 RPG) and ranked second in scoring (12.9 PPG).
