Iowa continued its surge in building its 2024 recruiting Class on Thursday morning. Illinois receiver KJ Parker announced his verbal commitment to the Hawkeyes.

Parker officially visit them this past weekend. He told HN on Sunday how much he enjoyed the experience.

Iowa now has 16 known verbal commitments from scholarship players in the cycle. He is the fifth previously uncommitted student-athlete who visited last weekend to pledge this week, joining defensive end Devan Kennedy, receiver Reece Vander Zee and tight end Gavin Hoffman on scholarship, and Graham Eben as a preferred walk-on opportunity.

Rivals, On3 and 247Sports all rank Parker (5-11, 165) as a three-star prospect. Rivals sees him as the No. 14 player overall in Illinois for the recruiting cycle.

Parker caught 37 passes for 1,082 yards (29.2 YPC) and 17 touchdowns in '22, according to Max Preps. He recorded 30 solo tackles (1.0 for loss) with two interceptions and a sack as a defensive back.

He also officially visited Cincinnati this month. He announced the Hawkeyes, Bearcats, Western Michigan, Buffalo and Illinois State as his five finalists on Wednesday.
