The Kansas Jayhawks are back in action, coming off their first postseason appearance since the 2008 season. Tonight, they look to build on a fantastic second year for Lance Leipold and begin to meet some high expectations that have been placed on them.

While a technological snafu gave some fans hope, Kansas is not receiving any votes in either major poll. Missouri State was picked 9th in the preseason poll for the Missouri Valley Conference, which Kansas was picked 9th in the Big 12 preseason poll.

These teams have played twice in history, both in Lawrence. The Jayhawks swept those meetings, with a 24-10 victory in 2001 and a 44-24 victory in 2002.
