The Rock Chalk Podcast returns for another episode of our opponent preview series, where we dive deep into one of the upcoming opponents for the Kansas Jayhawks in football this season. This time, it's the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and Albie Shor of the Tortilla and Takes Podcast joins the show to give us all the details.

The episode examines the mood around the program after the firing of Matt Wells and the hiring of Joey McGuire. Plus there are a lot of unknowns on offense: who starts at QB, will the RB depth be enough, which WR are going to step up, and what combination of lineman will be most effective? After that, we look at the strength of the defense, and why that should worry Tech fans. Finally, we end with a look through the schedule to see just how difficult things are in McGuire's first season

The episode gets started with a conversation about the mood in Lubbock after the firing of Matt Wells and the hiring of Joey McGuire. It's difficult to know what to expect in the upcoming season since this is the first college head coaching job, but McGuire has energized the fanbase.

From there, we look at all of the questions surrounding this offense, including who the starting quarterback is going to be. We look at a running back room that is very top-heavy but a bit thin on the depth, and a wide receiver room that is stuffed but has almost no established players. And then of course, we take a look at the offensive line.

After the break, we take a look at the defense. Saying that the defense has been underwhelming for the last few years would be an understatement, but is that going to be any different this year? We look at the unit that is likely the strongest this year and what that means for their chances.

And then we finish up by looking through a schedule that absolutely did McGuire no favors in his first year. It's a difficult non-conference schedule, and the layout of the Big 12 games isn't fantastic.

It's a lot of fun, so make sure you catch it today!
