It's over. The 2022 College Basketball season is done, and your Kansas Jayhawks ended the season as the best team in the nation. It was a comeback for the ages as Kansas overcame a 15-point halftime deficit to beat North Carolina for the sixth championship in program history.

In today's episode of the Rock Chalk Podcast, I was joined by Steve Fetch for the first of multiple episodes to recap and celebrate this title. We jumped immediately into the craziness of the comeback, the top performances and a potential MOP controversy, and how this team showed a ton of poise. Then we ran through some memories and takeaways from this team as we discussed where this team will rank among our favorites. And of course, this game WILL affect Bill Self's legacy, so we give some thoughts on how that might play out.

We had to start the episode by talking about the craziness of the second-half comeback. The first half was just as bad as the second half was good, and we dove in to the feelings surrounding those two things simultaneously.

That served as a natural launching point to dive into the huge performances by multiple players. David McCormack had the strongest case of anyone to be named the Most Outstanding Player, but there were lots of other performances that needed to be highlighted.

From there, we jumped into a discussion about where this team will likely rank in our lists of our favorites Kansas teams. That included a whole bunch of memories and favorite stories. And you can use one of the options in the tweet below to record some memories of your own to share with Jayhawk Nation in an episode to air later this week or early next week.

And of course, no discussion of another title would be complete without looking at the effect this win will have on Bill Self. We talked about his legacy, the relationship he has with his players, and included a discussion on how you memorialize the impact he has had on this program when the court is already named after the inventor of the game and the building is named after the father of college basketball coaching.
