With the Spring Preview marking the end of the spring practice season and a flurry of transfer portal activity afterwards, there is a lot for me to cover with Jordan Guskey of the Topeka Capitol Journal.

A lot has happened for the Kansas Jayhawks Football team since the last time we had an episode focusing on them, so it made since for us to focus on them in the latest episode of the Rock Chalk Podcast. Jordan Guskey of the Topeka Capitol Journal joins the show to talk about the state of the program after the Spring Preview.

We started by talking about the big takeaways from the Spring Preview. The obvious place to start is with the quarterback competition and how both Jalon Daniels and Jason Bean performed. This included a discussion about how much you can read into Spring Preview performances of both players.

From there, we moved to other position groups and which players that fans can look to for breakout seasons. There is a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball, and Jordan gave his biggest opportunities for a breakout season.

Up next is areas where fans might be concerned about this team. This includes holes in the roster, especially where transfers are concerned. We talk about what the goals are for the coaching staff still in the transfer portal and what fans should expect to see over the summer.

After the break, we take the opportunity to talk with Jordan about his experiences covering a national championship for the Kansas Basketball team in his first season on the beat. Additionally, we talk about the other stories that set the tone for the season and might change the way that we talk about this team in the years to come.
