The Kansas Jayhawks recently extended an offer to a very talented offensive lineman by the name of N-Kye Wynn. Wynn is an offensive lineman prospect from Muskegon High School in Muskegon, Michigan. He is a 2025 prospect and recently spoke with Blue Wings Rising.

Following his offer his coach (Matt Bolles) spoke with Blue Wings Rising.

“What separates N-Kye “Tooder” Wynn from other athletes is his mindset. He is a flat-out bully and just pounds (DL) into submission. Then you mix this mentality with superior athleticism and toughness only the elite ones have, you get N-Kye Wynn!”

“Off the field, N-Kye is a gentle giant who loves to be with his OL buddies and is always going to help anyone who needs it. N-Kye is always doing community service and loves to help out with Special Needs individuals. The kid has this HUGE heart and then you watch him play and go……. “THAT CANNOT BE THE SAME KID!” N-Kye is also a 110% mamma's boy and this bond is very evident and amazing to see because his mother (Sheena) is such an amazing person and spirit! She raised 4 boys (N’Zai, Ny’Zirre, N-kye, and Sani) and to say that it was hard would be an understatement. N-Kye’s older brother Ny” Zirre was also a Muskegon Big Red Football player and he is now a Defensive End at Olivet College, N-Kye’s younger brother Sani is hands down the best athlete of the 4 boys, he will be a force on our DEFENSE next year.”

He dove deeper into the leadership role that he holds. “N-Kye is a great leader in the fact he is vocal and he also backs it up with play and actions. He will never run from an issue concerning himself or the TEAM. He has so much respect from teammates because he is such a physical force on the field and then they see him putting in extra work all the time to get better.”

“N-Kye has come a LONG way in terms of his academic profile. He has a 3.0 GPA and amazing attendance in classes. He will be the first to tell you he had his struggles with academics growing up but there were many factors involved in his case and he also had some that were self-induced, but he matured and really put it together academically. I am very proud of him because I saw him struggle in his middle school years (where I worked in Physical Education.)”

“I expect N’Kye to take his already awesome work ethic to another level in the off-season and by the looks of his body he has been adding much-needed good weight and he is looking like a MONSTER from some movie. He is really filling out in his upper body and his legs are much thicker. I am 6’5 and 300 lbs and I tell you this in true honesty, N-Kye is a very imposing-looking young man! I project Kye will be a 6’7/315lb OT prospect for the NFL draft in a few years. This kid has that much potential and he has all the measurables. He wears a size 17 shoe and he hasn't completely filled out his frame by any means.”

Finally, it was time to look at what he could bring to Kansas despite not being a commit. “What N-Kye would bring to the Jayhawk program is a young man with some very serious goals and a chip on his shoulder. N-Kye lost his father when he was very young and he has had to be a protector for most of his life so far, that is why he is so aggressive and an ALPLHA MALE on the field. He will go to whatever depth he has to to make sure his family, mother, and Quarterback are protected. You would think from some of the words used to describe N-Kye’s playing style that he has to get a ton of penalties. WRONG….he has been flagged 5 times in 2 seasons (1 Holding, 1 Illegal Man Downfield, 1 False Start, 2 Unnecessary Roughness) and that is with over 1,200 snaps under his belt as our Right Tackle. He has only given up 1 sack in 2 seasons and that was in his 2nd start vs the #1 (DE) in the state last year Mason Muragin from Warren De La Salle and he is now an (OLB) at the University of Illinois. Kye learned quickly from his mistake though, he took a lazy set and got beat on edge with a dip and rip. Even with the sack given up, Kye graded at 84% vs Muragin angels him to 2 tackles and Kye got a few Knockdown BLOCKS as well, his toughness and ornery demeanor will become infectious in the (OL) room and Kye will be an ALPHA MALE. I feel he will be a leader in all aspects of the program, a crowd favorite, and a high-round NFL (OL) prospect. If he does decide on a major in Education, I know Autism Spectrum Disorder is an area he really is interested in and he would be an amazing Special Education Teacher. But with his toughness and wrestling background, he would be a great UFC Fighter as well! To give 1 more example of his ability. The (OL) went with Head Coach Shane Fairfield and Dir of FB Operations Brooke Bartholomew, and I took the OL to the LINEMAN CHALLENGE at Stoney Creek HS in Rochester MI, The night before the event we went to Somerset Mall to have some fun, and eat. On our way to leave, we spotted one of those punching bag machines that drops the bag down and you get 1 good “haymaker" at it. All the kids Coach Fairfield and I took a couple of swings for bragging rights. The guy running it said that a score of 650 and over is comparable to a KO punch in the real ring. Well….Kye had 874 on his first swing which was 2nd on TEAM to DE Quincy Johnson who had 893…. I got an 871 and Coach Fairfield who had MAJOR shoulder surgery on his dominant shoulder months earlier had to use his off hand and still cranked it out to 850! Long story short…. Kye was in 2nd place and he had the last swing of the night. N-Kye in textbook form, cranks to OVERHAND RIGHT and hits the bag perfectly and flush with such power and speed, scores 927! I asked the man running the machine what was the highest score he saw on the machine and he said 930 and that is as high as it goes, said the game only goes to 930! I did some research and saw UFC Heavyweight STAR Derrick Lewis got a 999. In a nutshell… Kansas would be getting a DUDE!”
