Kansas has historically been successful when bringing on offensive linemen. Trey Boys is one of the more recent offensive line targets to receive an offer from the Jayhawks.

Boyd is a 6-foot-4 255-pound lineman from Shakopee High School in Shakopee, Minnesota. He is a ranked three-star in the 2025 recruiting class and has caught the eye of many programs like Kansas, Cincinnati, Purdue, and others.

“This offer means a lot especially because of the success they had in the past season showing that they are a program with great to offer to me and also one that could send me to where I want to be after my 4 years which is the NFL,” Boyd said when speaking to Blue Wings Rising.

Boyd dove deeper into his conversation with Kansas. “I spoke with coach (Jim) Zebrowski the Co-OC/QB coach and it went really well,” Boyd said. “I had seen him in person and really enjoyed my time with him also it went really well.” Boyd also talks more about the pitch they gave him. “Their pitch to me is a great program to where myself and them can benefit from but not just a transaction-based benefit but as a future player and person.”

Many people find different reasons to believe Kansas is a unique program. “I believe Kansas is very unique because of how they were looked upon before the season as a team that was a “basketball school” and then came out and balled in the top ten of the league. I believe I could bring an all-conference lineman to them and be a vital person in their front 5 but I also believe that for any school.”

Boyd also spoke about potentially visiting the Jayhawks. “I am for sure heading down there this spring so March/April nothing official but I really want to and plan to.”
