Kentucky Jumps Eight Spots to No. 10 in Latest D1Baseball Poll

The good times keep on rolling for Kentucky baseball. The Bat Cats continue to shoot up the D1Baseball Top 25 and are now the No. 10 team in the nation, according to the new poll.
SEC Teams Ranked:
- No. 1 LSU
- No. 3 Florida
- No. 4 Vanderbilt
- No. 5 Arkansas
- No. 6 South Carolina
- No. 10 Kentucky
- No. 11 Tennessee
The eight-spot jump comes following another undefeated week of baseball for head coach Nick Mingione's team. UK opened the week on the road, taking on in-state foe Western Kentucky in Bowling Green, defeating the Hilltoppers 10-8 behind a grand slam from WKU transfer Jackson Gray.
Kentucky then improved to 8-1 in SEC play — its best start in-conference in program history — by sweeping the Missouri Tigers at Kentucky Proud Park. The Wildcats run-ruled the Tigers on Friday and Saturday, then closed things out with a tight 3-1 victory on Sunday.
Game One: Kentucky 12, Missouri 2
Game Two: Kentucky 10, Missouri 0
Game Three: Kentucky 3, Missouri 1
UK remains No. 1 in RPI and has the No. 3 strength of schedule, per D1Baseball. Its 25-3 record is its best start to a season since 2012, when it opened 22-0. This week, it will host Dayton on Tuesday night before beginning a seven-game road trip that begins with three games at Georgia.
First pitch between the Wildcats and Flyers on March 4 is set for 6:30 p.m. EST. The game will air on SEC Network+.
