Kentucky OL Deondre Buford Reportedly Entering Transfer Portal

The junior made two starts for the Wildcats in 2022.

A second Kentucky offensive lineman has entered the transfer portal in as many days.

Less than 24 hours after the announcement of sophomore OL David Wohlabaugh Jr's entry into the April portal, junior Deondre Buford has done the same, per On3's Matt Zenitz.

Buford was in Lexington for three seasons after committing to UK as a 4-star recruit coming out of Martin Luther King High School in Detroit, Mich. The 6-foot-3, 312-pounder didn't play in the COVID-shortened 2020 season, saw action in two games in 2021 but played in all 13 games as a redshirt sophomore.

With starting RT Jeremy Flax missing time due to injury last season, Buford saw extensive backup snaps and even made two starts, which came against South Carolina and No. 1 Georgia. Kentucky added USC OT Courtland Ford out of the transfer portal, but Buford was still expected to earn snaps as a junior in the 2023 season.

Instead, he'll join Wohlabaugh in looking for a new home. Buford becomes the 18th player to enter the portal from UK, going back to the original offseason window.
