We knew that when John Calipari left for Arkansas, Kentucky would be losing a good portion of its 2024 recruiting class, which has become a reality.

Karter Knox decommitted first, then earlier today Jayden Quaintance requested a release from his NLI. This left the 2024 recruiting class with four members, but now it is at three after Somto Cyril requested a release from his NLI.

This leaves the recruiting class with five-star guard Boogie Fland, five-star wing Billy Richmond, and four-star guard Travis Perry.

Cyril is a high-flying physical defender who would have been a beast on the boards in Lexington. He could have developed into an NB player if he had found a way to score around the rim. This is a player many in Lexington were very excited about.

It will be interesting to see if Calipari is able to land Cyril at Arkansas.

Whoever Kentucky's next head basketball coach is, he will have to fill a roster via the transfer portal.

Here is Jamie Shaw of On3's scouting report on Cyril, "Somto Cyril is a premier rim protector, one of the best in the country regardless of class. He has a great frame, strong shoulders, and very long arms. He battles around the basket, a good rebounder both in and out of his area. Cyril is still raw offensively; his hands are solid with balls thrown above his chest. He does not provide much offense outside of ten feet; he is a rim runner, dunker spot type—difference-maker on the defensive end."
