LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Less than a week after seeing their 2025-26 season come to an end, a pair of spots have come open on head coach Jeff Walz's staff with the Louisville women's basketball program.

Over the last two days, associate head coach Shay Robinson and assistant coach Amanda Butler have both departed the Cardinals for opportunities elsewhere. Butler was named the head coach at the College of Charleston on Tuesday, while Robinson left to be an associate head coach at Florida.

Robinson has been on Walz's staff for the last four seasons, while Butler has been with UofL for the last two. Both coaches played large roles in the success Louisville experience this past season.

The Cards started conference play at 11-0 for their longest ever undefeated start to ACC play, finished 15-3 in regular season conference play, as well as 29-8 overall for their 16th consecutive 20-win season. UofL reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2023, before falling to Michigan.

Louisville went 51-19 during Butler's two seasons on staff, making the NCAA Tournament in both seasons. The Cardinals posted a 50-12 record in Robinson's first two seasons on staff (101-41 in all four), also making the NCAA Tournament twice while making the Elite Eight during his first season.

Prior to joining Louisville, Butler spent six seasons as the head coach at Clemson. She found immediate success with the Tigers, guiding them to a 20-13 overall record and an NCAA Tournament appearace in her first year at the helm, winning ACC Coach of the Year. However, she posted an 81-106 overall record during her time there, culminating in her firing after the 2023-24 season,

Butler also spent 10 seasons as the head coach at Florida beforehand, guiding them to a 190-136 record and four NCAA Tournament appearance. That was preceded by a two-year stint at Charlotte in her first head coaching gig, where she went 40-22, bringing her overall head coaching record to 311-264.

As for Robinson, he came to Louisville following a pair of seasons at Ole Miss as an assistant coach. The Rebels went 15-12 in his first year on staff, followed by a 23-7 campaign in two for their first NCAA Tournament berth in 15 years.

Before that, Robinson spent the 2014-19 seasons at Maryland. During that five-year run, the Terrapins went 179-27 overall, which included logging three 30-win seasons, five Big Ten regular season championship and four conference tournament championships. Maryland went to the NCAA Tournament every season, including the Final Four in 2015.
