LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football program has been starting to generate a fair amount of national buzz in recent weeks. Between the Cardinals' hiring of head coach Jeff Brohm and his efforts navigating the transfer portal, some have started to tab the the Cardinals as a dark horse in the ACC for the 2023 season.

Now, one of their top players is starting to get some offseason/preseason recognition.

On Thursday, On3's Charles Power and Clark Brooks released their list of the top 100 players in college football for the 2023 season. On it was Louisville defensive end Ashton Gillotte, who was placed at No 64 overall.

As you can imagine, the 6-foot-3, 270-pound edge rusher is arguably the top Cardinal to return from last season's squad, and one of Louisville best overall assets when taking into account transfers. Starting 12 games, he logged 7.0 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks, which was good for fifth and third respectively on the team and leads all returners. He also tallied 23 overall tackles (11 solo) and two fumble recoveries.
