LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The recruiting hot streak by the Louisville football program is only getting hotter.

Linebacker Keith Brown, who spent the first two years of his collegiate career at Oregon before entering the transfer portal back on Apr. 15, announced late Tuesday night that he has committed to the Cardinals. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Brown is the fifth player to commit to Louisville following their spring game last Friday, and the third transfer. Former Rutgers offensive tackle Willie Tyler and former North Carolina safety Cam'Ron Kelly also committed, as have Class of 2024 offensive linemen Ransom McDermott and Jimmy Williams.

The 6-foot-1, 235-pound inside linebacker played in 12 of Oregon's 13 games this past season, while also starting in the Holiday Bowl against North Carolina. He set a career-high with seven tackles in that game against the Tar Heels, while also collecting 21 tackles (12 solo), a tackle for loss and a QB hurry for the season.

Brown saw a decent amount of playing time as true freshman for the Ducks in 2021. He played in seven games with starts against both Ohio State and Stanford, collecting 15 tackles (six solo) in the process.

A native of Lebanon, Ore., which is roughly 45 minutes north of the University of Oregon, Brown was one of the top prospects in the Class of 2021. He was a consensus four-star prospect and top-ranked player in the state of Oregon, and ranked as high as the No. 81 player in the nation according to Rivals.

Brown's addition is a much needed one for Louisville's linebacking corps. With MoMo Sanogo graduating, Monty Montgomery transferring to Ole Miss and Dorian Jones following Scott Satterfield to Cincinnati, the Cardinals lost their top three middle linebackers from last season's team.

Louisville has been incredibly active in the transfer portal since Brohm was hired as their head coach in December. While the Cardinals have lost 20 players via the portal since the end of the regular season, Brown is now the 16th to transfer in over the offseason.

The Cardinals finished their 2022 season with an overall mark of 8-5 (4-4 in ACC), including a 24-7 win in the Fenway Bowl over Cincinnati. They'll kick off their 2023 season against Georgia tech in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Classic at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. on Friday, Sept. 1.
