LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville's football program's post-spring transfer portal haul is only getting bigger.

Cornerback Storm Duck, who spent the first four years of his collegiate career at North Carolina, announced Wednesday that he has committed to play his final season of eligibility with the Cardinals.

Duck is the fourth transfer to commit to Louisville following their spring game last Friday, helping make up for the six Cardinals that entered the portal on Tuesday. Former Rutgers offensive tackle Willie Tyler, former North Carolina teammate safety Cam'Ron Kelly and former Oregon linebacker Keith Brown also committed.

He originally entered the portal this past December, took an official visit to Louisville soon after, but wound up committing to Penn State. After participating in spring ball with the Nittany Lions, he hopped back in the portal last week.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound defensive back is coming off of the best season of his career. Starting all 12 regular season games for the Tar Heels in 2022, he logged 46 total tackles (36 solo) along with one for loss, a forced fumble, and led UNC with three interceptions and nine pass breakups. His 12 pass defenses was tied for eighth-most in the conference, and he was tabbed as a Second-Team All-ACC selection.

The Boiling Springs, S.C. native had been a regular fixture of North Carolina's secondary during his four seasons in Chapel Hill. Over his four years and 33 games played, Duck logged 103 total tackles (82 solo), five interceptions, 17 pass break ups, a forced fumble and a tackles for loss.

While the Cardinals are losing former All-ACC corner Kei'Trel Clark to the NFL Draft, their secondary is still in good shape for 2023. They retain starting safeties M.J. Griffin and Josh Minkins, starting cornerbacks Jarvis Brownlee Jr. and Quincy Riley, while also bringing in transfers Marquis Groves-Killebrew and Devin Neal from Texas A&M and Baylor, respectively.

Louisville has been incredibly active in the transfer portal since Jeff Brohm was hired as their head coach in December. While the Cardinals have lost 20 via the portal since the end of the regular season, Duck is now the 17th to transfer in over the offseason.

The Cardinals finished their 2022 season with an overall mark of 8-5 (4-4 in ACC), including a 24-7 win in the Fenway Bowl over Cincinnati. They'll kick off their 2023 season against Georgia Tech in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Classic at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. on Friday, Sept. 1.
