BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU sophomore catcher Cade Arrambide was named Wednesday to the Buster Posey Award Midseason Watch List.

The award is presented each season by the Wichita (Kan.) Sports Commission to the nation’s outstanding collegiate catcher.

Arrambide, a product of Tomball, Texas, is hitting .259 this season with five doubles, four homers, 16 RBI and 19 runs scored. He has a .981 fielding percentage behind the plate, and he has thrown out three baserunners attempting to steal.

He was named to the Live Like Lou Jax College Classic All-Tournament team on February 22 after hitting .400 (4-for-10) in three games with one double, two homers, four RBI, four runs, four walks and a .600 on-base percentage.

Last season as a true freshman, Arrambide contributed to LSU’s drive to the National Championship by appearing in 36 games (19 starts), batting .242 (15-for-62) with three doubles, four homers, 14 RBI and 11 runs.

Arrambide has reeled in a strong honor as he navigates his sophomore campaign, but he isn't the only LSU Tiger that is earning praise after Seth Dardar reeled in another accolade this week.

The SEC Player of the Week: Seth Dardar

BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU senior second baseman Seth Dardar was named SEC Co-Player of the Week Monday by the league office.

Dardar shared the honor with Gavin Grahovac of Texas A&M.

Dardar, a product of Mandeville, La., led LSU to an SEC series victory over No. 19 Kentucky last weekend, batting .600 (6-for-10) with four doubles, one homer, five RBI, four runs, three walks and a .692 on-base percentage.

His three-run homer in the sixth inning of Sunday’s game versus Kentucky erased a 10-8 deficit and gave LSU a lead it would not relinquish as the Tigers clinched the series win. Dardar also contributed an RBI double in Sunday’s series-deciding victory.

Dardar on Friday night versus Kentucky tied the LSU single-game record for doubles with three, and he added one RBI in the contest. He walked three times and scored twice in the Tigers’ Game 2 win over the Wildcats on Saturday.
