LSU Football, Alabama Crimson Tide Among Top Contenders for Nation's No. 4 Safety

In this story:
Macon (Ga.) Howard four-star safety Ta'Shawn Poole has narrowed his focus to six schools with Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers remaining in contention amid a recent aggressive pursuit for the Peach State standout.
Poole checks in as the No. 4 rated safety in the 2027 Recruiting Cycle with offers galore rolling in across his time on the prep scene as SEC and ACC programs fight for his commitment.
The 6-foot, 185-pounder out of Georgia has earned offers from the likes of the LSU Tigers, hometown Georgia Bulldogs, Tennessee Volunteers, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, among several others.
"Poole has been on Georgia’s radar for nearly two years now and has been on campus multiple times. Head coach Kirby Smart even took a helicopter to his school last month for a visit, showing just how much of a priority he is for the Bulldogs," Rivals wrote of Poole.
"But according to Simmons, another SEC rival has emerged as the significant leader: Tennessee. Alabama, Clemson and Georgia are all chasing the Vols right now."

LSU is the most recent school to get in on the action for Poole after hosting him to campus last weekend for Spring Camp practice in Baton Rouge.
Poole walked in without a scholarship offer in-hand, but quickly earned one from the coaching staff in-person - with the offer piquing his interest.
Just days later, the LSU Tigers have been included in Poole's finalists alongside the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Clemson Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, and Tennessee Volunteers.

It's a strong list of contenders for the No. 4 rated safety in America with safeties coach Jake Olsen making LSU stick out after a recent visit to Baton Rouge amid LSU's meteoric rise for the Peach State defender.
Now, as Poole works through an offseason of evaluating contenders, the LSU Tigers will look to get the talented prospect back down to campus on a multi-day stay as Kiffin and Co. work their magic for one of America's top weapons.
