LSU Football 'Making Major Push' for No. 1 WR in America Committed to SEC Rival

New Orleans (La.) Brother Martin five-star wide receiver Easton Royal has remained a hot commodity on the recruiting trail this offseason as he navigates a pivotal stretch in his process.

Royal, the No. 1 rated wideout in the 2027 Recruiting Cycle, has blossomed into the crown jewel in the Bayou State as Southeastern Conference programs fight for his signature.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pounder has earned offers from the likes of the LSU Tigers, Texas Longhorns, Ole Miss Rebels, Tennessee Volunteers, Florida Gators, and Texas A&M Aggies, among others, across his time on the prep scene.

But it's Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns coaching staff that hold the verbal commitment after he went public with a decision on Nov. 29.

Despite a pledge to an SEC rival, it hasn't stopped programs across America from fighting to flip the Royal as he continues evaluating contenders - visiting the likes of Florida, Ole Miss, and Tennessee already this offseason.

With visits to other SEC schools already in the rearview mirror, Royal is now preparing to take a closer into the hometown LSU Tigers.

"All day at school all of my friends are pushing me to flip to the LSU Tigers," Royal told Fox 8 New Orleans. "You only get this process once - so I'm committed to Texas, but I'm still trying to figure out if that's the best decision for me.

"The ultimate end goal is to make the best decision for me and my family.

"Me and Coach Lane [Kiffin] are building a relationship. He texts me often just telling me to have a good week - sending me videos, motivating me, and recruiting me to be an LSU Tiger."

Now, according to Rivals, the LSU Tigers are making a major push for the No. 1 wide receiver in America with multiple visits on deck.

The LSU Tigers have pieced together an aggressive pursuit for the Texas Longhorns commit with sources indicating to LSU Tigers On SI that Kiffin and Co. are remaining in constanct communcation with Royal.

Now, unofficial visits - along with an official visit later this offseason - are locked in as the Bayou Bengals turn up the heat in their pursuit of flipping the Bayou State standout.
