LSU Football, Arkansas Razorbacks Enter Rare Territory After Major Portal Hauls

Kiffin and Co. dominated the Transfer Portal after signing the No. 1 class, enter rare territory amid haul.

Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers entered rare territory this offseason after inking an all-time great Transfer Portal Class with over 40 newcomers joining the program.

Once athletic director Verge Ausberry circled Kiffin as the program's No. 1 target in the head coaching search, LSU officials were willing to do all they could in order to secure his services.

Fast forward to Nov. 30 and the deal was done with Kiffin being officially named the shot-caller of the Bayou Bengals where he called his shot on Day 1.

During Kiffin's introductory press conference the next day [Dec. 1], he revealed his goals: Assemble an elite Transfer Portal Class where he did that and then some.

"Then go to the portal, which I have zero concern about the interest of players with that, because I know what the interest was of players nationally to come play for us where we were just at, and now when you put that with this stadium and with that logo, I mean, makes me want to get on the phone right now, but the portal is not open," Kiffin said on Dec. 1.

Now, LSU has made history with a whopping 40 additions in the NCAA Transfer Portal:
