The Georgia Bulldogs and Oklahoma Sooners have emerged as early favorites for Dial - according to the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine - but the LSU Tigers remain in contention amid a pivotal offseason stretch.
Offensive line coach Eric Wolford is running point guard in this one as he keeps tabs on the talented prospect out of Tennessee with finalists now locked in ahead of his junior campaign.
LSU is beginning to identify top targets in the 2028 Recruiting Cycle with Dial - among others - quickly surging as priorities for the coaching staff.
The Priority Target: TE Lee Steele
Orange Beach (Ala.) four-star tight end Lee Steele made his way to Baton Rouge this past weekend for a visit with Kiffin and Co. as the program intensifies its pursuit.
Steele checks in as the No. 8 rated tight end in the 2028 Recruiting Cycle where he has seen his status skyrocket across the last few months with offers galore rolling in.
The 6-foot-6, 210-pounder has earned scholarships from the likes of the LSU Tigers, Auburn Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Ole Miss Rebels, and Tennessee Volunteers, among several others, across his time on the prep scene.
The recent visit to Baton Rouge has Steele taking a closer look into Kiffin and the Bayou Bengals:
Blessed to be able to attend spring practice @LSUfootball , thank you @Lane_Kiffin @CoachJoeCox for the hospitality and knowledge you shared with me today. @Rivals@SWiltfong_ @ChadSimmons_ @ScoutFball@TomLoy247 @On3Recruits@247Sports@TDARecruiting@OrangeBeachFB… pic.twitter.com/cDTaRbheTh

"It was something that every kid dreams of. It was great talking to [Lane Kiffin] and talking to [LSU tight ends coach Joe] Cox. It is a great place for kids to come in and play," Steele said of his recent visit to Baton Rouge.
"I met Lane Kiffin yesterday - I talked to him about what it takes to play there and Trey'Dez [Green] and how he works. It takes a hunger, man."
Now, as the LSU Tigers identify priority targets in the 2028 Recruiting Cycle, both Dial and Steele have emerged as names to keep tabs on.
