Maryland Football: Did another 5-star player hint at future choice of college?

Maryland football already has the No. 2 overall player committed to it for the 2026 cycle. Five-star edge rusher Zion Elee turned heads when he committed to the Terrapins over some elite programs, but not only did Elee commit, but he shut down his recruitment by canceling all of his official visits -- he's staying home and playing for Maryland.

With Elee in the fold, some other prolific recruits are going to want to play alongside him. One player the Terrapins are hoping to land and join the '26 class is five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho. The Maryland native is the No. 3 ranked player in the '26 cycle and it would be another massive land for Mike Locksley.

Recently, Iheanacho posted on his social account a photo of him in a Maryland uniform asking 'In the foreseeable future?'. The 6-6, 345-pound lineman is looking at the Terrapins, Oregon, LSU, Texas A&M, and Penn State. But according to a recent report from Rivals, Iheanacho is set to make an announcement sooner than later.

"MarylandOregonLSUTexas A&M and Penn State are the five programs standing out most to the five-star offensive tackle and he has an interesting commitment plan moving forward. The North Bethesda (Md.) Georgetown Prep standout – who has the Terrapins at the top of his list right now – is planning to take official visits to those schools and commit while on one of those trips. Could Maryland keep him home?" - Rivals

With a visit to Maryland on the horizon, Locksley and Co. has a real chance to get the deal done.
