Miami EDGE Jabari Ishmael Enters Portal Wednesday Morning

Miami Native And Former Four-Star To Look For A New Home

Following Miami's Spring Game and the re-opening of the transfer portal, player movement is back in swing as they look to find new homes.

While Miami fans are locked in to see who could be coming to Coral Gables, there are still players who are exiting the program.

One of which is former Columbus HS product Jabari Ishmael, who announced Wednesday morning that he's entered the transfer portal.

Ishmael was a four-star EDGE prospect in the Class of 2021, who committed on former head coach Manny Diaz's final class. Ishmael helped lead Columbus to a Florida Class 8A state championship in his junior season.

A consensus Top 20 EDGE in the country, Ishmael redshirted his first season and didn't record any stats for the Hurricanes in his second season.

With the success of the first and second year edge rushers on the roster such as Ruben Bain and Nyjalik Kelly and lack of playing time, Ishmael will look to the portal and hope to receive the same attention he did back in 2020.

As for now, Miami fans must wait and see if more portal entries are on the horizon for this roster as second-year head coach Mario Cristobal looks to mold his roster to have a bounce-back season after a 5-7 campaign.
