In this story:

With the Miami Hurricanes possessing a 6-5 record and the final game of the season being against Boston College, will all of the Canes be 100% locked into this contest?

In today’s college football, it’s honestly common to see lackluster efforts during situations like this. Whether it’s not being happy about how the season is going, or something unknown, many teams play their worst game of the year when there’s not much on the line, i.e. big bowl game and/or a chance at the College Football Playoff are not options.

It's going to be easy for Mario Cristobal and his staff to have their squad dialed in from Monday's practices all the way until Friday's noon kickoff. It's important to have a good week of practice no matter the opponent, but it's a short week and on the road as well.

Team leaders like wide receiver Xavier Restrepo and middle linebacker Francisco Mauigoa, those guys are going to ball out. They also need to be leading during the week as much if not more than preparing themselves. Part of their preparation is for them to keep the spirits of the entire team up. It's still hard to accomplish that task with a 6-5 record.

How the Hurricanes come out and play versus the Eagles is all but impossible to say. That being the case, there’s also another factor that absolutely must be taken into account.

The weather.

Chestnut Hill, just outside of Boston, is where the game is being played. The forecast is awful for this game when one considers the number of Miami players who are from the Sunshine State. Some of these young men do not know what it’s like to play in sub-40-degree weather; adding rainy conditions does not help.

You can see the weather forecast and all the game details here.

For any player who did not live up North and play in these conditions before this Friday’s game, there’s honestly no way to be completely prepared for it.

All of this leads to the contest going in one of two directions. Either the Hurricanes come out with fight and vigor or they will go through the motions and play flat. Which direction will the Canes go?

Miami’s talent far surpasses Boston College’s talent. That being the case, effort and determination, along with raw emotion, can lead a team to victory. BC is going to come out and play hard.

This game likely means more to them because it’s senior day for the Eagles. Plus, it’s a chance to upset a team all the sports books are picking to beat them.

Each Miami player needs to come out with a determined mindset against Boston College. If not, this game can go poorly and in a hurry.

After the game, this article will be revisited one way or the other. It’s going to be interesting to see which Miami team shows up against Boston College.
