The Miami Hurricanes are playing a huge game versus the Clemson Tigers this coming Saturday. All the game details are right here. Knowing the schedule used to be the norm for the entire Miami schedule, months in advance.

With the ACC and other college conferences turning over many of their rights for exact kickoff times to the television networks – and that’s what’s happening – game times are roughly a week out from being announced to the public. It's for the usual reason, and that's money.

Here’s the latest ACC television schedule, in which the Oct. 28 Virginia at Miami game has the infamous “TBD” label. That means in about a week Miami fans will know what time kickoff is. That's of course a problem for some people rooting for the Canes.

From the perspective of the television networks, they want the biggest bang for their buck by way of placing the most likely to be viewed games in prime spots. Fair enough. That being the reason, there's a huge cost and it cuts the legs out from underneath many of the fans.

For some that root for the Canes, they simply cannot wait that long to plan the trip. It's the reality of their daily life. Kids, dogs, work schedules, beating traffic, and actually arriving at a time to tailgate prior to kickoff, are all considerations for any given Miami family, among other considerations for their time.

The almighty dollar is winning too often. Since the ACC and other conferences turned their attention to the bottom line yet again, the Miami fanbase, among others, is not coming out on top with these decisions. It's a shame because college football is one of the most unique sports in all of the world.
