Two Former Miami Hurricanes Set To Face Off In The Super Bowl

Once Teammates For Three Seasons In Coral Gables, Jon Feliciano and Deon Bush Will Battle For A Super Bowl Ring Against One Another February 11th

They used to share the field together and battle it out on Greentree, now they'll be on opposite sidelines in the biggest game of the year seeking that Lombardi Trophy.

After the results of Sunday's conference championships, the matchup is set between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of Super Bowl 54. This game is extra sweet for Miami Hurricanes fans, as a former Cane will walk away with a Super Bowl ring.

Both former fourth round picks in back-to-back NFL Drafts, Jon Feliciano of the 49ers and Deon Bush of the Chiefs will be the two Hurricanes headed to Las Vegas for this year's Super Bowl. After spending three years together as teammates in Coral Gables, only one of them will walk away victorious.

Feliciano, a 2015 draft selection by the Oakland Raiders, joined the 49ers this offseason with no real expectation that he'd make an impact on this team. However injuries led to Feliciano stepping in and he's been a phenomenal addition to this 49ers offensive line. As mentioned in our NFL Canes article a few weeks ago, Feliciano graded out with an 81.2 PFF grade in seven starts for the NFC champs.

Bush, a 2016 draft selection by the Chicago Bears, joined the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2022 offseason to provide depth to the Chiefs defensive back room. While he only played in one game during the regular season, Bush made a crucial interception on Lamar Jackson in Sunday's AFC Championship game to help send the Chiefs to the Super Bowl.

Football fans will have to wait till February 11th until these two NFL Canes face off against one another, but will get to watch David Njoku play in the Pro Bowl this upcoming Sunday.
