Miami Flips 'ELITE' Pass Rusher Elias Rudolph From Michigan

Elias Rudolph Is Miami's Newest Commitment

Miami just added a fantastic prospect to its 2024 recruiting class. Elias Rudolph has joined the fold. That’s not the first program he decided to make a public verbal commitment to though.

On July 3, he made a pledge to the Michigan Wolverines. He spurned offers from many other top schools to eventually head to Ann Arbor.

With each program’s 2022 sack total located inside the parentheses, Pittsburgh (48), Florida State (40), Miami and Michigan (37), Georgia (35), and Ohio State (34) all found their way to the opposing signal caller during the 2022 college football season. They all offered Rudolph as well.

It was easy to understand why those programs extended scholarship offers based on his play this past spring, and in particular, the Palm Beach Gardens jamboree. Rudolph was playing for Deerfield Beach (Fla.) High School at the time (he's transferred back up to the state of Ohio where he's from). After seeing him live at the jamboree, here's an excerpt from an article via All Hurricanes about Rudolph's talents:

"Having personally seen Rudolph dominate during the Palm Beach Gardens jamboree in May, make no mistake, he's one of the nation's most outstanding football recruits. His rankings aside (way too low), there's a reason that Michigan, Pittsburgh, Ohio State, Miami, Florida State, Tennessee, and many more programs want to add the 6-foot-4 and 215-pound edge defender to their roster."

He’s 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, long and lean, with a frame to play at 250 in a year, perhaps two. Now it’s up to him to continue to work hard and maximize his talent. As for Rudolph’s long-term potential, note that he earned offers from programs that understand pass rushers.

Rudolph was undoubtedly one of the top recruits for Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines. Now Mario Cristobal and the Canes have gained his verbal commitment. It was a noteworthy accomplishment for the Cincinnati (Ohio) Taft prospect to be added to Miami’s 2024 recruiting class that reached 20 committed recruits, including 10 projected to play defense, nine on offense, and one kicker.
