Miami, FSU and Florida Recruiting Battles

In this story:
The Canes will be hosting a handful of recruits this weekend like top-notch defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin, a player that could take an official visit to FSU.
Some of the other prospects that will take official visits to Miami this June and/or Mario Cristobal and his coaching staff want to sign will be on official visits to see the Seminoles or Gators for the June 2 weekend.
Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland edge defender L.J. McCray has set an official visit to Florida for June 2, Miami for June 9, and he’s also taking his FSU visit on Oct. 7. He has been one of the hottest names on the recruiting trail this spring.
The Noles also have talented Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic offensive lineman Nyier Daniels coming to visit on June 2. He will officially visit Miami on June 9.
Phenix City (Ala.) Central safety Rydarrius Morgan will be in Tallahassee this weekend, and he will be in Coral Gables on June 23.
Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith will visit Florida on June 2. Smith has been committed to Ohio State for quite some time, but he’s already trekked to Georgia (May 19), visits UF this next weekend, and has Penn State (June 16) already set for a trip, too.
Do not be surprised if Miami gets an official visit from Smith this summer or during the 2023 college football regular season as well.
Florida will also be set to host Gainesville (Fla.) Buchholz defensive lineman Kendall Jackson and Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive tackle Jayden Jackson, this upcoming weekend.
The Buchholz talent has been underrated by recruiting services to date, but the Gators and Canes would love to land him.
Perhaps the most difficult to project where he will sign from the above list would be Jackson from IMG Academy. The talented defensive tackle has just recently trimmed his list of schools to under 10.
Jackson has been keen on Miami for quite some time and former IMG players like Francis Mauigoa would love for him to be a Cane. That’s helped Miami’s cause, but Jackson also still has programs like Texas, Oklahoma and Ohio State trying to line up official visits with him.
Lastly, do not be surprised if one or more prospects already committed to any one of the Big 3 eventually flips to another member of the Big 3. There’s no love lost between these three schools and flips cannot be ruled out.
