In this story:

Even though Mario Cristobal never stops recruiting, this is his busiest month of the year out on the trail. National signing day (Dec 20th) is less than two weeks away!

Miami currently has 27 verbal commits and boasts the 5th ranked Class of 2024 according to 247 Sports. The Hurricanes have momentum after flipping 5-Star defensive tackle Justin Scott from Ohio State.

On a new Locked On Canes, Liam Willerup and I discussed candidates to become the next Canes verbal commit.

 Some names to consider:

-St. Thomas Aquinas 4-Star running back Jordan Lyle, an Ohio State commit.

-Mainland Daytona Beach 4-Star cornerback Zavier Mincey (uncommitted).

-Miami Central 5-Star defensive lineman Armondo Blount, a Florida State commit.

-Chaminade-Madonna 3-Star quarterback Cedrick "CJ" Bailey, a North Carolina State commit.

-Chaminade-Madonna 5-Star WR Jeremiah Smith, an Ohio State commit. *Note- this one is an uphill climb for Miami. OSU is doing everything they can to keep the number one recruit locked in, and Miami also faces competition from Florida State for a possible flip. Still, the Hurricanes are doing everything they can here.

On the podcast, Liam and I also discussed transfer portal quarterbacks. The Hurricanes are actively pursuing Washington State transfer Cam Ward as their top target.

IF Miami cannot beat out multiple other contenders like Ohio State, USC, and FSU for Ward, who is your next favorite option?

I like Kansas State transfer Will Howard. Liam likes Toledo transfer Dequan Finn
