After watching the Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Saint Thomas Aquinas practice today, a few notes and official visit dates needed to be updated. Plus, it’s always good to see these young men perform.
With coaches from Ohio State, Bowling Green, Oklahoma, Louisville, and USF there, it was a great chance to see some of the top 2024 talent and talk to them afterwards.
Note: Lots of other 2024, 2025, and 2026 prospects at STA beyond the prospects mentioned below.
Chance Robinson, Wide Receiver – Miami commitment
One of the seven Miami Hurricanes commitments, Robinson has been rehabbing a hamstring and was cheering on his teammates from the time stretching began through the final conclusion of practice with head coach Roger Harriott giving final instructions to the entire squad.
Robinson plans to once again play with his South Florida Express teammates in OT7 finals in mid-June. As for recruiting, Robinson appeared to be quite happy.
Robinson has been committed to the Canes since April 14. Robinson was all smiles and just enjoying the practice with his coaches and teammates. No more true recruiting pressure since committing to Miami.
Jordan Lyle, Running Back – Ohio State commitment
Lyle made the pledge to the Buckeyes on April 29. He had offers from across the country. Seeing how he led the STA running backs by example in drills, as well as a much bigger physique than during his junior season, look for the No. 318 player in the 247 composite to rise in the recruiting rankings. Lyle was impressive all practice long. Great young man, too.
Stacy Gage, Running Back
One of the top 2024 running backs that the majority of recruiting sites have covered for years, the 5-foot-11 and 206-pound power runner has adjusted to STA life well. Now heading into his senior campaign, Gage offered up some of his schools he planned to take official visits.
In the order mentioned, Miami, Oklahoma, UCF and Florida were the schools Gage admitted he was most likely going to officially visit. Colorado was among the other schools in contention for an official visit as well.
James Madison, Wide Receiver
After watching Madison hit the afterburners on a post route, all questions about why he has offers from across the country were answered.
Madison can flat out fly!
He looked all 6-foot-3. Long and lanky, and Madison moved really well in and out of his breaks. He has three visits lined up and even remembered the dates, too.
Louisville (June 2), Missouri (June 9), and Florida State (June 23) were the three schools Madison mentioned as being already set for official visits. He’s still taking his time and more official visits could be added.
