Michigan Point Guard Receives Medical Treatment Before Traveling to Final Four

Michigan basketball point guard Elliot Cadeau received medical attention for a possible allergic reaction earlier on Wednesday, according to a report from ESPN.
The incident took place as the Wolverines were set to depart from Ann Arbor to Indianapolis from Michigan's player development center.
Detroit radio station WWJ 950 posted a video on X earlier in the day of an individual being wheeled on a gurney and loaded into a Huron Valley ambulance.
NEW... a member of the Michigan Wolverines basketball team needed medical attention as the team prepared to depart for the Final Four this afternoon from Ann Arbor. Sources say an allergic reaction. Player, said to be fine, expected to join the team later.

Michigan later confirmed the individual was Cadeau, who had complained about a possible allergic reaction.
The team said the medical attention given to Cadeau was out of an "abundance of caution," while stating Cadeau would be traveling later on Wednesday in Indianapolis for the Final Four.
"Before the team departed the Player Development Center today, Elliot alerted the medical staff that he may have had an allergic reaction to something that he ate," the team said in a statement obtained by ESPN. "The doctors evaluated Elliot and he is fine. Out of an abundance of caution, he is receiving medical supervision and will be traveling to Indianapolis later today (Wednesday)."
Cadeau's impact
It's certainly relieving news to hear that Cadeau is okay, for both his own sake with his personal health and for the Wolverines' chances to get past fellow No. 1 seed Arizona
Cadeau has been electric through four games so far in the NCAA Tournament, averaging over 10 points per game, with 8.3 assists and just 1.8 turnovers heading into the Final Four.
For the season, the North Carolina transfer is averaging 10.2 points per game with 5.8 assists, while also shooting nearly 38% from three-point range.
Cadeau has blossomed under head coach Dusty May and has been playing his best basketball both of this season and of his college career heading into Saturday night's game against the Wildcats.

After Michigan's blowout win over Tennessee this past Sunday, Cadeau, along with fellow guard Trey McKenney, announced they would be returning to Ann Arbor in 2026-27 to play another season for coach May.
The Wolverines and Wildcats are set to tip off at 8:49 EST on Saturday night from Lucas Oil Stadium for a spot in the national title game, where the winner with play either Illinois or UConn.
All Final Four games will be televised by CBS, with the national championship game taking place Monday night to put a bow on the college basketball season.
