WR Andrew Marsh Explains Why Michigan is 'Going to be Dangerous' in 2026

In this story:
When Sherrone Moore hired Chip Lindsey to take over as offensive coordinator ahead of the 2025 football season, it was expected that he was going to open up the Wolverines' offense. However, between inconsistent play of Bryce Underwood, or lack of coaching the position, Michigan's offense was hindered.
But expectations are back on the rise heading into 2026 with Kyle Whittingham bringing over Jason Beck. Wherever he has been, his offenses have flourished. Beck has been able to get the most out the passing game and rushing game — which means fans might see Underwood throw it around more.
On Wednesday, sophomore wide receiver Andrew Marsh said Michigan has been airing it out more, and this scheme does help the playmakers.
"I do. I think we’ve been airing the ball out a lot," Marsh said. "And it’s something I’m really looking forward to. I hope everybody’s really looking forward to it. I really feel like we’re going to be dangerous this year. And really, just the ability to come out and show what we can do on the ground and in the air, it’s going to be crazy."

The scheme change itself is exciting, but Marsh thinks it's the players Michigan brought in. Not only did Marsh return, after leading the Wolverines in yards last year as a true freshman, but Whittingham brought over a few other playmakers that Marsh believes is going to make a huge difference this year.
"I feel like a lot of it just has to do with our play style this year, I feel like," Marsh said of why the offense can be explosive. "As far as the players and stuff like that, I feel like we’re a completely different team on the field. So, really just being able to showcase that, I think our receiver room, especially, should have a great year."
Two transfer WRs impressing
Both JJ Buchanan and Jaime Ffrench are expected to play a big role for Michigan in 2026. Buchanan came to Utah last season and made a big impact as a true freshman. Entering his sophomore year, and first with Michigan, Marsh noted that he's going to be able to help the Wolverines stretch the field.
"I feel like he’s a great addition to the room," Marsh said of Buchanan. "He’s somebody that can definitely help us stretch the field long ways and somebody who could definitely go up and get it and even make those tough blocks, really get in there and use his size. I think he’s a really good addition to the room, just a good guy to be around and to have."

As far as Ffrench, he's still raw, but full of talent. The former five-star didn't see the field much at Texas last season as a true freshman, but there is no denying what he can do on the field. Marsh said so far this spring, he's been killing it.
"Ffrench, he’s been coming in. He’s been killing it," said Marsh. "He’s been coming in. He was another good receiver to get. I was really glad that we got him. I’m pretty close with him on and off the field. He’s been doing a great job, really just working every day."
