JJ McCarthy Talks Junior Season Drip

In this story:
Deion Sanders didn't invent the phrase, but he popularized it during his playing days and even after he was done making plays as Prime Time.
"Look good, feel good, play good."
JJ McCarthy has heard the statement before and he's living it out as a junior. During fall camp, pictures of McCarthy sporting a visor began to surface and people were really drawn to it. Players have been wearing visors for years, mostly for the look, but this was new for JJ. He was asked about his new gear on Monday and the talented QB explained exactly how it came about.
"The visor, you know, that was something that I always wanted when I first came here, but Coach Harbaugh was strict on no visor," McCarthy explained. "He said with the arm sleeve and the visor, use it to your discretion, but if it becomes a distraction, then he's going to take it off.
"I just threw it on there and I love the feel, you know, look good, feel good, play good, all that. Yeah, just something that I always wanted."
Michigan's signal caller looks good in the visor and has been playing out of his mind this year. During the first two games, McCarthy was surgical. Against Bowling Green, not so much, but then he returned to form against Rutgers in the Big Ten opener. He was accurate, decisive and athletic picking up more than 50 yards on the ground. Is JJ playing better because of the visor? Who knows, but the now-veteran QB has made perfect decisions in three of four games with it on. This past week, it had a lot to do with running the ball.
"The running out of bounds thing is something that I've definitely been working on for my entire football career," JJ said. "I finally listened wholeheartedly this past weekend and I feel a heck of a lot better on Sunday, that's for sure. So, I'll definitely carry that into next week but on that third down, when I've got to get it, you best believe I'm going to put my shoulder down and try and get in any way I can."
Jim Harbaugh didn't mention the visor against Rutgers, but did say that McCarthy is getting better and better and played perhaps his best game as a Wolverine on Saturday.
"He had quick hands on the decision on the option; the two-way option, hand off or run himself. And big gains, big third down conversions by running and throwing big plays by running and throwing. It was just, it was sharp. It's a really, really sharp game."
Looks like Visor JJ is here to stay.
