Gibson is a 6’4” combo guard from Geneva, Ohio, who preps at SPIRE Academy and ranks as the top combo guard and No. 5 recruit in the nation (class of 2027) per On3. He currently has over 20 NCAA Division I offers, including NC State, Texas A&M, South Carolina, North Carolina and LSU, among others.
On3 currently has Gibson projected to commit to NC State with 47.3% probability.
The Wolverines offered Gibson back on June 24, 2024, and recently visited Michigan for the Michigan-Michigan State game back on March 8 at the Crisler Center.

What Gibson Said
As mentioned, Shaw recently talked with Gibson about his recruiting process. He started by analyzing his own game.
“I'm just a versatile player,” Gibson told Rivals. “On the offensive end, and the defensive end. I can score and get my teammates involved. I guard at a high level.”
When it comes to Michigan in particular, Gibson seemed impressed with the facilities the Wolverines have to offer.
“I learned a lot when I was there. I knew about how rich their history is at Michigan, but I didn't really know all the great players that came out of there,” Gibson told Shaw. “So, I was able to see them all over the walls. The environment was crazy, too. They love basketball out there. Their facilities were bigger than most schools; they have a new facility, a new practice gym, and a new girls' gym. All their new facilities really stood out to me.”

Gibson also spoke about this season and the guard play Michigan currently has, led by Elliot Cadeau.
"They're having a great year,” Gibson said to Rivals. “They let their guards come off a lot of ball screens, and they let their guards work. They also let their bigs work; they are just a versatile team."
Looking ahead, Gibson said he plans on beginning official visits in the coming months, which should help narrow down the recruitment process of where the guard will take his talents.
