In this story:
As the summer days pass, Michigan continues to receive news it's making the top group for several big-named 2025 prospects. The Wolverines were in the final eight for linebacker DJ McClary and the maize and blue are in the final group for running back, Justin Baker -- who Michigan is predicted to land.
Then on Tuesday, 2025 four-star defensive lineman, Ethan Utley, announced Michigan made his top group. The Wolverines offered Utley back in April of 2022 and the coaching staff continues to work on landing the workhorse. Utley also mentioned Tennessee, Miami, North Carolina, Florida, Oklahoma, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Penn State, Texas, Texas A&M, and Georgia in his top group.
According to the Composite ranking, the Nashville (Tennessee) Ensworth product is the 133rd-ranked recruit in the 2025 cycle. He is the 16th-best defensive lineman and the No. 4 ranked recruit in the state of Tennessee for the '25 class.
The Wolverines have two commitments for 2025 as of now and both are highly-ranked four-star recruits. Cornerback Chris Ewald Jr. and linebacker Mantrez Walker.
