Your Weekly Spartans in the NBA Report...

Alan Anderson has officially broken his long shooting slump. The Toronto shooting guard reached double figures in three of the four games he played in this week, while shooting 48.6% from the field. Though Anderson only saw 13 minutes of court time in a loss to Golden State on Monday, the former Spartan managed nine points. Rewarded with 25 minutes of playing time on Wednesday, Anderson did not disappoint. He recorded 10 points on the night in an easy victory over the Suns, hitting each of his three shots from behind the arc. Two days later, Anderson racked up even more points, notching 17 in a 118-116 loss to the Lakers. The 30-year-old shot six of 14 from the field, while snagging five rebounds. Anderson again came up with an impressive performance on Sunday. The veteran led the team with 18 points, helping the Raptors capture a four-point win over the Cavaliers. Â
Warriors small forward Draymond Green posted a couple solid performances, increasing his stat line as the week progressed. The rookie did not record any points in a 125-118 win over the Raptors on Monday, March 4. Green only received six minutes of time in Golden State’s next game, an 87-83 victory over the Sacramento Kings. The forward contributed two points, a rebound and an assist in the contest. Green added two points for the Warriors on Friday in a 94-88 loss to the Rockets. His best outing of the week occurred the next day. Green tallied nine points and five rebounds before fouling out in Golden State’s 103-93 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. He notched one point and five boards on Monday, as the Warriors cruised to a 92-63 win over the Knicks.
Shannon Brown continued to ride the pine for the Suns this week, as Phoenix head coach Lindsey Hunter opted to instead play his younger point guards in order to judge the value of Phoenix’s prospects. Brown did appear in his first game since February 12 on Monday, March 11, though. The veteran recorded two points and one rebound in his eight minutes of playing time.
Grizzlies veteran Zach Randolph was forced to sit out each of Memphis’ four games this week with a left ankle injury suffered on March 1st during a game against the Miami Heat. According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal, Randolph practiced with the rest of the team on Monday, and is expected to play on Tuesday, March 12 against the Trailblazers at 10.
