Hondo Dantonio better look long and hard at what happened at Auburn to Gene Chizik in three years, because he's headed the same direction…..lose your Offensive Coordinator and it's a quick slide from being a national power to an also ran. Lose you your Offensive Coordinator, and your only offensive weapon, and it can all go away.... and as quick as you can say Cam Newton or Levon Bell.

Candidly if they don't make some SERIOUS offensive changes including a new OC soon, I just don't see the point in spending $3500 for season tickets and a big contribution to the athletic fund again, I can stay home and be miserable and save a lot of money in the process.
I wish EVERY season ticket holder could send Hollis and Dantonio a note and point to Auburn and say….. MSU is on an identical path, and if MSU does not do something to infuse the offense we are not going to keep sending money to watch the team slide further into mediocrity. Maybe the money would get their attention.   Disgruntled but loyal West Michigan Spartan HJ

HJ I think that this bowl game is the biggest since Dantonio arrived. I have stated many times that I think that MSU realizes the fans are upset, but I don’t think they have a clue at the level of frustration. I almost always get emails like yours, but the volume is tremendous. If the Spartans have another season like this one in 2013, things could get real nasty. Wrong or right, a loss in Tempe at the BWW Bowl could make for a very stressful off season.

Hondo, if Bell leaves, do you see a gaping hole at RB for 2013? Brian

Wide hole for sure. I will be stunned if LeVeon stays. MSU will have some players, but they will be unproven.

Hondo, me and some buddies debated whether or not Narduzzi should move Tony Lippett back to CB next year? That position looks mighty slim. What do you think? Curtis

No. It isn’t slim. MSU is loaded with talent at the CB spot and Lippett is not one who likes contact. It is impossible in the MSU scheme to play CB and not embrace and love contact.

Hi Hondo, longtime fan. I live in Chicago and word a few hours came out of northwestern that the B1G and Delany intervened in the selection process and prevented Northwestern from being selected above Nebraska. They did not want the loser of the #B1G championship to fall low in the selection process. I am just wondering if Delany and the B1G did the same for MSU last year or is this special process only for the marquee programs such as Nebraska and Michigan perhaps O$U? Thanks, Edson

You’re joking right? I have written and discussed at length about Delany and his pros and cons. Nothing out of Chicago that comes from the B1G office shocks me.

Hondo, could you discuss the injuries that we have had on our O/L over the last few years. It seems we are snake bitten and have lost more than our fair share of starters across the line. Chris D

MSU has had their share, but the issues aren’t injury only. Every team gets them. The issues rest in other areas on the OL that I will discuss at the end of the year. You can’t discount injury, but when backups are guys with at least a redshirt you have a right to expect better development.

Hi Hondo. Did MD really say there will be no competition for QB and that Maxwell is the QB next year period? Can't/won't watch another season with Maxwell and our OC running the offense without even considering better options. If we had no one potentially better, it would be a different story. Dave

I plan on digging a lot deeper than a quote from Damion Terry, but that is what Terry relayed from his conversation on Spartan Nation Radio. After I talk with Dantonio I will have plenty more to say.

I hunger for a coach that aches to massacre the opponents. Conservative football is nothing I want. It is time for bloodlust. What say you? Tim K.

I think that football is made to be played in an atmosphere of brute force trauma. It is one that demands you go for the jugular and I miss it when I don’t see it.

Hondo, Mark Dantonio said he was going to make some changes on offense. This past weekend he stated that we're basically going to be the same. First of all, most fans want the OC fired, but the offense is the philosophy of the head coach, if Mark Dantonio wanted changes on offense, he could walk down the hall at the football building and tell the OC to open up the offense. Do you agree? Secondly, if he does not change with the times, I think that he is going to struggle on the field and also with this fan base! Dan Ludington

Correct. I have been saying that all year. Agree. You can do anything you want if you win. IF.
