Devyn Salmon already knows he is going to be a little out of his element when he begins school at MSU next fall: the Florida native and 2013 football commit has never seen snow.

"People tell me it goes below zero a little bit,” he says, “but I can develop to it. At the same time, it's going to take some getting used to!"

Weather aside, Salmon says he cannot wait to get to campus.

"It's fantastic," he says. "I just love Michigan State.  I love the program, I love what Coach Dantonio's done, and I love what he's going to do.  I'm just so in love with Michigan State right now."

Salmon admits he is already picturing himself in that Spartan green and white uniform.

"Every single time I watch the Spartans play, I just text my mom like, 'oh, Mom, just wait until next year, you're going to see me on ESPN, and I'm gonna be doing bigger and better things.'  Everything's just about to get more and more hype.  I can’t wait."

Until then, he is working to cap off a successful final season at Plant City High School, which he says has been going well.

"You can search up my highlights from our first three games," he says.  "Last weekend, I ran a 99-yard touchdown from the one yard line."

Pretty impressive for the 282-pound defensive tackle.

Salmon is already working hard for the Spartans off the field, as well.

"I've been promoting all Michigan State all over the place to different players," he says, mentioning several highly rated recruits out of high schools near his. "Hopefully, I won’t be the only Spartan Dawg coming out of here this year."

He says he also reviews MSU games to closely watch the techniques of the team's current defensive linemen.

"Then, I try to mimic what they do."

In addition to being a strong addition to the MSU football program, Salmon is already showing likelihood to be a future fan favorite. He says every time he sees someone in the MSU green and white, he raises a hand to say hello.

"I'm just so proud to represent this school."
