Mark Dantonio Heads to the Land of Lincoln for Commitment #11 for 2011 in RB Mika’il McCall!

Mark Dantonio loves the running game and with his latest addition he has a lot to smile about. He nabbed Mika’il McCall for his 11th commitment of 2011 from Dolton, IL. The back that reminds many of Eddie George has a power game that you can describe as a road grader. Not one to shy away from contact, McCall told Spartan Nation about his running style, “I trust my instincts. I love to hit.”

 

He was recruited primarily by MSU outstanding OL Coach Dan Roushar and up and coming star assistant RB Coach Brad Salem. McCall said of Salem and Roushar, “I think they are really nice. They both treated me with hospitality and were really cool guys. Coach Salem will be my coach in college and that really impacted me the way he treated me. He went out of his way and I really appreciated that. I didn’t get to talk to the running back coach at all the schools and I felt good about how he does things.”

 

At 5’11 and 213# McCall is a load. He isn’t a speedster like recent commit Trae Waynes who was clocked as a 4.24 in the 40, but he is quick which is essential for a back. Mark Dantonio loves to have two backs he can interchange and with McCall only going to get bigger, he could be a faster Jehuu Caulcrick.

 

McCall talked about his biggest weakness right now that he wants to improve when he said, “I always want to improve on form and feet and vision and cuts. There is always room to improve. You have to remember that.”
