Is it over for Matt? You would doubt that it is done but it certainly looks bleak. Trannon who defied all of the advice that Tom Izzo went out and diligently gathered about coming back to MSU basketball last season is no longer in the NFL.
Trannon had decided to heed his own advice and chose to not play basketball and work out. Sadly at the combine (which I was at) Trannon did not perform well at all, prompting one NFL scout to ask me, "what has he been doing? What was he thinking?" He was late for his pro day at MSU, which was another turn off to some NFL teams that had come specifically to see him, and it all has seemed to spiral downward.
Certainly no one in the Spartan Nation wishes him ill will, but we all can hope that he has learned from this and makes some quality of life adjustments!Â
You can check out my post from the combine on Matt, it was posted on February 25, 2007. Matt very well may make a practice squad or have to pursue his dream by working on his skill in Canada or the Arena league if he is unable to catch on with another NFL team.
