Spartans Trail Seminoles, Tide, Tigers in National Championship Futures Betting

As the 2014 College Football season gets underway this weekend, the Florida State Seminoles sit atop the College Football betting odds to repeat as national champions. The Seminoles, who kick off their 2014 season on Saturday as 17.5-point favorites over the Oklahoma State Cowboys, are solid 4/1 favorites to defend their title in College Football futures betting.

The team will once again look for leadership from quarterback Jameis Winston. The Seminoles are trailed in national championship betting by the Alabama Crimson Tide, with odds of 5/1. The Michigan State Spartans kick off their 2014 College Football season on Friday night when they welcome the Jacksonville State Gamecocks to Spartan Stadium. The Spartans are heavy 32-point favorites against a Gamecocks squad who finished 11-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference in 2013.

After posting a 13-1 record last season, capped by a 24-20 win over the Stanford Cardinal in the Rose Bowl, the Spartans have 5/2 odds to qualify for College Football’s new four-team playoff, and sit just short of the favorites, with betting odds of 22/1 to win the national championship.

Michigan State will be led by quarterback Connor Cook, who is currently the sole Spartan given Heisman Trophy consideration in College Football online betting.
