Spartan & NFL Washington Redskin QB Kirk Cousins With Some Not So Good News For His Fans

Earlier this off season, former Michigan State & current NFL Washington Redskin QB Kirk Cousins signed his franchise tender, guaranteeing himself almost $20 million for the 2016 season. There is still plenty of time before the NFL collective bargaining deal and the July 15 deadline for players with franchise tags to sign multi-year contracts with their respective current teams.

Redskins General Manager Scot McCloughan has made it clear that the Redskins would like to get a long term deal with Cousins done before the looming deadline. Cousins has said, "I am totally comfortable playing more football, and frankly if I don’t play well next season, I don’t deserve to be back."

Cousins said this weekend that, “No progress,"towards that new deal yet. The Skins certainly can watch the year out and roll the dice, but it would certainly seem it would behoove both parties to find common ground on a long term deal.
