MSU Ranked One of the Best Institutions in the U.S.

Michigan State ranks as one of the best schools in the country, according to the U.S. News and World Report.

Michigan State University has been historically known for its athletics and academics. While athletics have been somewhat down lately as a whole, the Spartans still rank as one of the better schools in the Big Ten and one of the best schools in the country academically.

U.S. News and World Report is a site used by students and parents who are looking for the best colleges for their children. They rank colleges yearly based on many factors, mainly academics.

The site ranks MSU just behind Minnesota overall. MSU is ranked as the best school in the country for supply chain management/logistics studies, and its study abroad program is ranked eighth in the country. It also ranks in the top 40 in the country in the categories of Best Colleges for Veterans and Most Innovative Schools.

MSU is tied for 60th among national universities and 28th among the top public schools in the country. It is also ranked 160th in the country among schools with the best value, and its engineering schools rank in the Top 50.

“Michigan State University is a public institution founded in 1855,” said the U.S. News and World. “It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 39,201 (fall 2022), its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 5,192 acres.

“It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. Michigan State University's ranking in the 2024 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, #60. Its in-state tuition and fees are $15,372; out-of-state tuition and fees are $41,958.”

Part of the U.S. News and World Report’s ranking centers around activities available for MSU students, such as student clubs and fraternities. According to the site, MSU is home to one of the most expansive single-campus residences in the country.

According to the site, “Students can join more than 900 student clubs, including 60-plus fraternities and sororities. The university has one of the largest single-campus residence hall systems in the U.S., and freshmen must live on campus, with a few exceptions. Students can take advantage of more than 275 study abroad programs.”

Academics have always been taken seriously in the Big Ten and at MSU. That seems to continue for the Green and White, who have consistently had respectable athletic and academic programs.

The Michigan State Spartan Football Spring Green and White Game (Spring Showcase) will be held at the High Cathedral of the Spartan Nation, Spartan Stadium, on April 20, 2024, at 2 p.m.
