Men's Basketball, Holiday Hoopsgiving: Mississippi State 106, Tulane 76

Did You Notice?

• The 106 points scored by men's basketball were the most by Mississippi State since a 103-81 victory over BYU on Dec. 29, 2018. It also marked the most points scored by the Bulldogs in a game outside of the state since the 105-68 win over Florida on Feb. 14, 1959.

• Saturday's game marked the first time this season, and only the sixth time overall under Coach Jans, that State surrendered 70-plus points to an opponent.

• The 30-point margin of victory was the second-highest during the 96-game series history over the Green Wave and trailed only a 52-14 win during the 1927-28 season. It was also the highest this season and matched the third-largest margin of victory under Coach Jans.

Your Daily Dose of Mike Leach:

“I don't even remember what I said. I hope whatever I said was cute and clever, and maybe even a tiny bit humorous. I hope it wasn't mindless babble, and if it was, hopefully everyone will forget about it pretty quick."
