Bulldogs Results

Did You Notice?

  • The men's basketball team is 4-0 all-time against Sunday's opponent. Jacksonville State is 0-2 on the season following a 73-58 road defeat to Utah Tech on Thursday. This will be third straight game on the road to open the schedule for the Gamecocks. Junior guard Kristol Ayson leads the team with 13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds through the first two contests.
  • With the start at quarterback, Chris Parson becomes just the fifth true freshman to start a game for an SEC program since 2021 and the first this season. He joins Texas A&M's Conner Weigman, Vanderbilts AJ Swann and Kentucky's Destin Wade who did it in 2022, and Missouri's Tyler Macon in 2021.
  • Texas A&M had to do some unusual explaining after warmups for the Mississippi State game when someone wearing quarterback Max Johnson's number on a T-shirt jersey was out on the field throwing. Texas A&M athletic director Ross Bjork denied any sort of funny business when asked by a reporter, saying that nackup quarterback Blake Bost couldn’t find his warmup top, so Johnson lent him his since he wasn’t playing.
