Around the SEC: Alabama HC Nick Saban Keeps His Stance On SEC Scheduling

Nick Saban has favored the SEC moving to a nine-game conference schedule ahead of Texas and Oklahoma joining the league.
“My deal is always play more SEC games because we couldn’t get other people to schedule,” Saban said.
Saban says he favors the NFL model because it creates more “parity” in the sport. This is ironic coming from the man who has dominated the sport for over a decade at Alabama, and he likely believes that this stance will help the Crimson Tide in the end.
The SEC has decided to continue to play an eight-game conference schedule in 2024, but the potential for nine games is not out of the question for the future.
