Eatmon commits to Bulldogs

Even in the midst of a global pandemic, Mississippi State football keeps reeling in new Bulldogs. MSU picked up its third commit in four days on Saturday when junior college cornerback Cortez Eatmon announced his intentions to join the maroon and white.
“It’s on,” Eatmon posted to Twitter, along with photos depicting him in an MSU uniform.
Eatmon redshirted last season at Independence Community College in Kansas before transferring to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College earlier this year. The Jasper, Alabama, native joins Byhalia offensive lineman Makylan Pounders and Holmes County defensive back Corey Ellington as players who, since Wednesday, have announced they were headed to the Bulldogs as part of the Class of 2021.
Eatmon chose Mississippi State over several other schools. He also held offers from Georgia, Texas A&M, Auburn, Ole Miss, Kentucky and others.
Eatmon, who is currently unrated by 247Sports, becomes the ninth commit for MSU’s upcoming signing class. He joins Pounders and Ellington, as well as four-star quarterback Sawyer Robertson out of Coronado High in Texas, three-star quarterback Daniel Greek out of Liberty Christian in Texas, three-star wide receiver Brandon Buckhaulter out of Hartfield Academy in Flowood, three-star athlete Kadarius Calloway out of Philadelphia High School, three-star running back Amariyon Howard out of Starkville High School and currently unrated defensive end Thomas Davis out of Lowndes High School in Georgia.
With the recent additions, Mississippi State’s 2021 class sits at No. 33 in the country as of late Saturday according to 247Sports. Meanwhile it is ranked as the No. 6 class in the Southeastern Conference.
